Irrigation Systems Atlanta

Lawn sprinkler systems are meant to supplement natural rainfall. The importance of proper precip rates is also crucial to even supplment of water. Be sure that your irrigation system is setup to give you the proper water and supplement for natural rainfall rather than just watering to water and therefore raising your water bill.

Irrigation System Repairs

We are often asked "if one of my valves is bad aren't the others soon to follow?" Well, on an older system with all the same valves it is quite possible but not absolute. With newer systems, there is no way to tell whether or not just because one irrigation valve went bad another one will follow suit. I've seen valves last fifteen years or more. So the answer is one of those unsures.

Irrigation System Repairs

A lot of irrigation system repairs are results of work being done in yards....remember free of charge Georgia 811 will mark the public utilities (gas, electric, phone, cable, etc.) to help out on that end but they don't locate private utilities such as irrigation, landscape lighting, etc.

Sprinkler System Repairs

Today we are working on several repairs which include updating of sprinkler systems with more efficient sprinkler heads, backflow prevention and rain sensors. I cannot stress enough the importance of backflow prevention and rain sensors. Backflow prevention will keep the irrigation system water from mixing with your drinking water and that of your neighbors. Backflow prevention has been a state requirement since 2005 as have rain sensors.

Updating your old irrigation system

Whether your system is 5, 10 or 20 years, there has been much improvement in water efficient technology that could help save you money each watering season. Updating an irrigation system is important for the longevity of your system as well. Consider this: you change your car's oil and filter so it will last longer...your irrigation system should be treated the same!

Irrigation Rain Sensor

After the rain yesterday here in Atlanta, it once again reminds me of the importance of irrigation rain sensors. This is a small investment in saving water in the event of a sporadic shower or rainfall. How many times have you seen a sprinkler system running during the rain? Have you wondered why that is happening? Most likely because that system doesn't have a rain sensor. If you don't have one, I encourage you today to inquire about getting one with an irrigation company in Atlanta. Not only will it save you money, save water waste but will help to conserve water as well.

Separate Irrigation System Meter

Having a separate irrigation meter is a great way to maximize your water savings by not paying sewer rates on the water used for to run your irrigation system. When planning for a new system, it is important that your irrigation contractor knows the laws and regulations in the city or county of your project. Some counties require separate irrigation meters and others, like Fulton County, won't allow them any longer. Do your research and make sure your irrigation contractor knows the rules to save you headaches and money later.

New Irrigation System Installation

Today will be the first of probably 3 days of a new irrigation system installation. This project has 6 zones (one of micro misters), a Pro-C controller and highly efficient Hunter Solar Sync. When installing an irrigation system in this county, you are required to get a separate irrigation meter. We are combining this with drainage correction and look forward to getting started.

Spring Start-up: Irrigation/Lawn Sprinkler

When starting up your irrigation/lawn sprinkler system be sure to consider any new plantings or growth so that the system will properly and efficiently cover those areas. If your plants or shrubs are drought resistant or require no more than natural rainfall, consider capping the zone or the heads so that you can save that water! A full Spring Start-Up completed by a reputable irrigation company in Atlanta should ensure that your system is working at it's best and they should also make recommendations for improvements.
