Updating your old irrigation system

Whether your system is 5, 10 or 20 years, there has been much improvement in water efficient technology that could help save you money each watering season. Updating an irrigation system is important for the longevity of your system as well. Consider this: you change your car's oil and filter so it will last longer...your irrigation system should be treated the same!

Kia Motors - Spring Irrigation

I went to West Point yesterday to check out and confirm the watering schedule for the irrigation system at Kia Motors in West Point. Everything appears great and the first Solar Sync/ACC Decoder controller combo in commercial use is working perfectly. Look for pictures on the website by Monday!

Sprinkler System Spring Start-Ups: Not what they used to be

After the water restrictions from our drought in Atlanta and limited time last year to water, we are overwhelmed with phone calls from people wanting to start their systems up this year. We are finding that the limited usage over the last 2-3 years in conjunction with this year's extreme cold are making some start-ups more complicated than usual. It is important to properly maintain your irrigation system every year just like having the oil changed in your car. Preventative maintenance goes a long way. We are still running our $99 spring start-up special through April 30th and may extend it due to the number of calls we are receiving. Keep in mind though your system may require more work than a standard spring start-up if it hasn't been used in the last couple of years.

Spring Start-up: Irrigation/Lawn Sprinkler

When starting up your irrigation/lawn sprinkler system be sure to consider any new plantings or growth so that the system will properly and efficiently cover those areas. If your plants or shrubs are drought resistant or require no more than natural rainfall, consider capping the zone or the heads so that you can save that water! A full Spring Start-Up completed by a reputable irrigation company in Atlanta should ensure that your system is working at it's best and they should also make recommendations for improvements.

Preparing your existing irrigation system for Spring!

Besides checking out the working condition of your sprinkler system, when you considering projects this spring like decks, patios, etc. be sure you consider the impact on your irrigation system. Sprinkler heads can often be moved or capped. Make sure you think about this BEFORE your project because trying to correct it afterwards often increases the expense.

Spring Start-up

After our extremely cold winter in Atlanta, I expect a substantial increase in irrigation repair requests. I would suggest that you be proactive in your pursuit of irrigating your lawn and either DIY spring start-up and check or call a certified irrigation contractor to do a complete run-through on your irrigation system. Doing this will eliminate huge repair bills later for irrigation repairs in Atlanta. I know that irrigation repair in Atlanta can be expensive and this spring start-up check could potentially save you hundreds of dollars later in the watering season. Find a irrigation company in Atlanta that has the knowledge and experience to properly diagnose existing irrigation system problems as well as the ability to see potential problems in the making. Not only will you save in repair bills later but you could save a lot of money in water bills from an improper irrigation system. My company is offering a special spring start-up. You can learn more about that special at www.irrigationatlanta.com.

If you need information on a DIY spring start-up, post your questions here on our blog. The basic checkup is not difficult but can be time consuming for the average person. To determine potential problems definitely requires the expertise of an irrigation company in Atlanta.
