Irrigation Atlanta
When you are considering a new irrigation system also look at the possibility of getting a separate irrigation meter thereby saving you sewer rates on the landscape watering. Some areas such as Coweta county require separate meters and others don't even offer them.

Irrigation Sysems Atlanta
Once you have decided to get an new irrigation system and decided on an irrigation company in Atlanta for installation of that irrigation system, be sure that all aspects of the irrigation system are explained to you. Location of your irrigation shut off valve, sensors, valves and heads are of the utmost importance. Also, be sure that your irrigation controller is programmed for the specific needs of your landscape and to supplement rainfall. If you have steep landscape, ask about setting a program for cycle and soak - meaning running shorter times for more cycles to prevent runoff and therefore water waste.

New Irrigation Systems
If your planning a new irrigation system around a landscape plan, be sure that your irrigation company follows these guidelines:
(1) Take into account the expected size of plants (meaning placement of heads should take this into account). Otherwise, those heads may have to be moved later.
(2) Be sure the irrigation system is planned for a minimum of a 3 year establishment period for shrubs and 10 year establishment for trees from an irrigation perspective.

New Irrigation System Sprinkler Heads
It is very important that the sprinkler heads selected for your new irrigation system be placed properly and that they are the right type for the landscape you are watering. Also of importance is the nozzle in those sprinkler heads that dictates the actual amount of water being put on your landscape. Your new irrigation system should never contain a mixture of rotors and sprayers on the same irrigation zone. Mixing of rotors and sprayers causes severe uneven watering because the rate of water flow is so different between those two types of sprinkler heads.

Irrigation Systems Atlanta
Today I want to blog about the importance of proper separation of irrigation zones. Different plant types, soil types, and landscape layouts require different amounts of water. Combining grass and annuals into one irrigation system zone will give uneven watering. Meaning one area gets too much and one not enough. It is important that the irrigation system design plan takes into account the differences in these areas that it will water. Tomorrow, importance of proper heads & placement.

New Irrigation System
Thinking about a new irrigation system for your new landscape? Be sure that your irrigation company not only looks at the landscape plan but checks out the property to gain knowledge of site conditions (slope, soil, etc.) as well as checking your static water pressure and flow rate. Failing to check all these things before installing a new irrigation system could result in an inefficient, water-hogging sprinkler system.

Irrigation Sysems Atlanta

The Irrigation Associations "Irrigation Best Management Practices" provides that "the irrigation system shall be designed to be efficient and UNIFORMLY distribute the water." We see so many systems on the repair side of our business that are designed improperly. Design is the first cruicial step to assuring that you have an irrigation system that works properly. Anybody can throw pipe in the ground and call it irrigation, an irrigation professional does so much more.
